Why people say Persians do not exist?
The Persians are one of many ethnic groups living in Iran. According to the CIA World Factbook, Iran Ethnic groups consist of: Persian 51%, Azeris 24%, Gilakis and Mazandaranis 8%, Kurds 7%, Arab 3%, Lurs 2% Baloch 2%, Turkmen 2%, other 1%. [17] Other sources mention different statistics, for example, the Library of Congress has Persians 60%, Azeris 20%, the Kurds 7%, Lurs 3%, the Arabs of 2%, Baloch 2%, Turkmen 2%, Turkish tribal groups (eg qashqai) 2%, not Persian, not Turkish groups (for example, Armenians, Assyrians, and Georgians) 2%.
