Who are the first missionaries who came to Karkar Island, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea?
I am applying to the first settlers of the Karkar Island, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea any information relating to a tribe known as MUSOB. They lived near the village and Kurum viped out by the neighboring tribes around 1879 or so. The white settlers of the early missionaries as the late Archbishop George of German who was urit lived in the same place where my tribe uses to live. My great grandfather was the only survivor of the invasion of the tribe Musob. I would be glad if someone can provide some information about it.
Just find two books that mention the Rev. George, it seems that he was German, but there is no way to be sure that the first reference he is. But he is "George H. ", so maybe. The last book was interesting. It takes a librarian to track these down. I just them out of a database of the library. Good luck.
