Looking for a book but can’t find it?

Years ago I read a book it was a fictional catholic book (and was surprisingly good) about a guy who was mountain climbing and fell into a cave discovering an ancient scroll that leads him to another world of beings. Supposedly after the great flood the world got split into two worlds and their interconnected and he’s labeled as the ‘final prophet’ and it’s a really cool book but I can’t remember the name or the author, help?
